Practice Areas
We represent individuals in state and federal court in Kansas and Missouri.
Our mission has lead us to focus our practice the following areas of law:
Civil Rights
You have the right to be treated equally with others. Federal and state laws ensure that you have these rights free from discrimination. These include freedom of speech, assembly, religion and more. When your Civil Rights are violated by government authorities, the party responsible can be held liable for any damages.
Discrimination
Discrimination can happen anywhere. State and federal laws ensure that individuals should be protected from discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations. These protections extend to cover all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age (40 or older), disability and genetic information (including family medical history)
Employment
As an individual in the workplace, you have rights granted to you by both state and federal law. These rights include safeguards and protections from discrimination and harassment based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age (40 or older), disability and genetic information (including family medical history).
Harassment
There is no room for unwelcome conduct based on your race, color, religion, sex, disability or national origin in the workplace.
Public Accommodation
Public places should be open to the public. State and federal law prohibit discrimination based on an individuals ability, race, color, religion, sex or national origin from occurring in government organizations, public spaces and private business that are open to the public.
Retaliation
Doing the right thing should never lead to retaliation. That is why federal and state laws protect employees from being retaliated against for reporting or filing a complaint of discrimination, participating in a hearing or investigation or openly opposing discrimination in the workplace.
